Youth Sports Positive exists to help families navigate the complex world of modern youth athletics while preserving the transformative power of sports that shaped generations before us.

Our Story

Sports saved my life. When my mother enrolled my brothers and me in youth sports, she wasn’t just keeping us busy—she was giving us the tools to succeed. Through sports, I learned the fundamentals that would carry me through life: hard work, perseverance, teamwork, goal setting, and resilience in the face of adversity.

This foundation launched a lifelong journey in athletics—from collegiate and professional athlete to coach at the highest levels, and now as an NHL scout. Sports gave me everything, and I’ve dedicated my career to giving back to the game.

Years later, I watched my daughter Kelsey grow up in a very different youth sports world. Now, as a sports reporter and former ‘average’ athlete, she sees how much the game continues to change.

The Challenge We Address

Today’s youth sports landscape looks dramatically different. Children now face longer seasons, extensive travel, early specialization, and costs that can reach tens of thousands of dollars per family. While the potential for positive impact remains enormous, the path has become increasingly difficult for families to navigate.

Our Solution

Together with my daughter Kelsey, we’re building a comprehensive platform to guide families through this complex terrain. Through our website, podcast, and YouTube channel, we amplify positive stories, spotlight exceptional coaches and leaders, and share practical expertise to help parents make informed decisions for their children.
